I'm a slacker

I am a complete blog slacker. In my defense Asher had pnemonia and then Kevin got sick and had to go to the E.R. but now life is returning to normal so I will catch up. We had a great trip to Disneyland with the Manwarings and Ruth's mom Jenny. Here are a few of my favorite moments from the trip.Asher's first set of Mickey ears.

Who are you voting for?

London's class held a mock election for president yesterday. All the kids got to cast their vote. I asked London who she voted for. She answered McCain. When I asked her why she said. "He sounds like a candy cane." Guess that's one way to pick your candidate. Just choose the one whose name sounds the sweetest. Hope you all get out to vote today!

Happy Halloween

We had an awesome Halloween trick or treating through the neighborhood and sharing goodies with our friends. I thought I would post a few pictures of the kids in their costumes for those of you who didn't get to see them in person.

London was a fairy for the second year in a row. She just can't resist a set of wings.

Pyper was a witch. If you asked her what kind of which she was, she would answer "A mean one. I will turn you into spider or elephants or frogs."

Asher hated his costume and freaked out the whole time it was on him.

I also got to be a room mother in London's class and bring a craft for them to do so I snapped a picture of their class. Kindergartner's are so cute! And her teacher is the greatest.

We can't leave out Pyper's preschool class. How cute is the little boy dressed up as Mario?

Name change

We changed the name of our blog so that it would no longer contain our last name. Yes it was becasue of KSL's report on blogs. We won't follow all of their advice like not posting any pictures of kids because then what's the point of even having a blog? Please feel free to use our first names in comments!

London's Going Green

London took her first field trip this week. They went to the Salt Lake County landfill. When she got home, I asked her how it went and what she did. I was bombarded with facts the rest of the day.

"Mom, did you know that plastic bags are very dangerous and if they get in the ocean sea creatures will eat them and die. There was this bird at the dump that ate like a thousand plastic bags and it almost died. We have to tie our bags in knots so animals won't eat them." So for the rest of the day I tied plastic bags in knots.

We leave our trash can open so that I can throw diapers in it from the back door. I went to lob a diaper out. "Mom, you have to close the garbage can or cats can get in them and get taken to the dump and they will get squished." For the rest of the day, I walked outside and opened the trash can to throw out diapers.

I thought this will be great because I can send London out to put all the recyclables in the recycle bin and she will be all about it. I sent her out with a big plastic container. When she got back inside she said, "Mom, I hope they know that was from me when it gets there. "

It got even better. That night at dinner London ate all her food, which she never does. Why? Because the man at the landfill told her that the food she doesn't eat ends up at the dump. All these years I have tried getting her to eat her dinner by telling her there are people starving, or it will make her healthy and strong, or she won't get any dessert if she doesn't finish. All it really took was a trip to the dump.

Asher is 1!

Asher celebrated his first birthday with a BBQ in our back yard. He was having an awesome time until we put on his hat. He cheered right back up though when we gave him his very own cake and let him open presents.

It has been quite a difference having a baby boy. He loves getting dirty and his favorite toys are balls and cars. He loves to chase his sisters and tease them and he is quite the dare devil when it comes to bath time. If you don't keep a hand on him at all times, then he is going under. I can't wait to see what the next year brings!

What I saw in my backyard
