So there have recently been some changes in our little family. Kevin's work schedule changed and they were unable to accomadate or crazy schedule so we faced the decision of finding someone to care for the kids or me staying home during the days. I am sure you can guess which one we chose. I gave my notice and one week ago I started staying home full time.
I have mixed feelings. I will miss my friends and co-workers of 11 years. I have been at JVMC for my almost my entire adult life. They were there for my wedding, the birth of my kids, they were my family and I will miss them greatly. (I am still taking call, but there aren't that many people around at 2 in the morning, and it is the social aspect of work that I will miss the most.)
I do love being home all the time with my little munchkins though. And I have seen my husband more in the last week than I have since we were newly weds. We have dinner together every night now as a family and it is really nice. I seem to have a lot more patience now that I am not working. Hopefully I can make it through this little identity crisis, and if any of you are up for a play date, we are now available 6 days a week!! Here are some cute pics from the kids Easter shoot. How could I not love being with them more?

What a leap of faith! I know you will be blessed! My sister went from full time working mom to just mom and it was really difficult at first, but she loves it now. Just make sure to still get out without the kids and feel like an adult! That is the hardest part! You are amazing! Congrats on your new journey!
Oh Shantell. how great that you get to stay with your kids, but very bittersweet I am sure. Wish I could be there to play with you guys!!!!
We miss you, Shantell! But I'm glad you have the opportunity to stay home with your cute kids! There aren't many moms that have that luxury :)
That's great! I also understand how it must be difficult for you as well. Validation from work is MUCH different than validation as a mommy! I guess it just means we'll need to do more girl's night outs to help you stay sane, right???
i'm green with envy.
good for you, and good for your family! love every minute of it!!
Now you have all the time in the world to come and visit!!
Good for you Shantell! Being with my friends and other adults is what I miss most about my working self. Oh, and work clothes. Being with the kidlets is worth it though.
Oh you are going to do great! Keep up with all those family dinners! :) You'll definitely need more GNO's, and craft nights! It always helps me to run during the week to keep my head on straight after all the kid talk ya know. Anyway, there's my soapbox advice. Love ya tons, Kelli tell Kevin and the kids hi for us! Lets get together soon!
